A dragee production line builds value layer by layer, so drum loading, syrup or chocolate feed and airflow must be specified together.
Layered coating
Finished dragee can be 40-60% heavier than the core. If the drum is sized only by empty volume, the planned SKU soon forces lower loading and longer cycles.
Layering depends on angle, rpm, feed temperature and air. When one variable drifts, the batch looks acceptable at first and then breaks, sticks or spots during packing.
Dragee equipment pays back when every layer is repeatable, not when the drum only rotates.
